Good Monday morning!
I have a fun announcement to make!
On September 22, 2015 at 9pm EST, I will be a part of a LIVE chat on the Coffee Time Romance & More website. AND I will be giving away a little something. Now, I am not allowed to give away a bottle of mead (frowny face) because we cannot prove legal drinking age and don’t want to be liable for any mischievous teens acquiring said yummy beverage. We will however, give away at least 2 soaps and a spell candle, maybe more. I’m still working on the details.
Anyway, I had a wonderful weekend and hope you did, too.
Saturday was spent with my daughter. We went dress shopping for the homecoming dance and found a beautiful sparkly teal number for a great price. I also treated myself to a new nose ring – a hoop for a change. I usually only wear studs, but was feeling adventurous.
Sunday was relaxing – sort of. My son had a friend over for most of the day and I found myself saying things like “Just don’t shoot him” (target practice with air soft guns & plastic pellets) and “put that log back in the woods” and my personal favorite “don’t stand on the bike; there’s a seat for a reason”. I even made a big batch of homemade macaroni and cheese for the kids (not me, ew).
While this was going on, my daughter was applying to college and I was reading an amazing book. “Orphan Train” by Christina Baker Kline is my September read for Book Club. I highly recommend it. I also spent a few hours writing! It felt so good to sit down and write. I have to stop myself from editing as I go and JUST WRITE. But yes, I was working on book two in the trilogy and occasionally my daughter would read over my shoulder. There was the occasional sigh or tsk or “Really mom?” that’s when I know the scene is just the right amount of steamy. It is my goal to sit down and write every day, kind of a self-imposed early NaNoWriMo. If I can discipline myself to do this, I can get the second book into your hands hopefully by February. But, that is assuming that Champagne not only wants it but the schedule would allow for it AND that I can really write at least 1000 words a day that make sense.
Have a great Monday and don’t forget to let everyone know about the live author chat!!
